Default Should a country have nuclear technology? - 03-16-2007, 02:48 AM

Should any country have nuclear technology? Currently as far as I know those countries with nuclear technology, regardless for power plant or weapon are, USA, North Korea, Iran, some countries in Europe, and maybe some countries in South America. Do you think a country should obtain that technology ?

to my mind I think yes , why not . It's just that the countries having this technology can say that they can defend itself in case this technology was needed where I ain't with using nor threatening with this kind of technology.

It does concern me that many countries are not getting nuclear technology, or should I say have the knowledge to make nuclear bombs. Personally I would like to see no country with this type of destructive power but it is highly unlikely that those who have them already will dispose of them.

Nuclear power is a different matter, and it could be vitally important in many countries. As long as the countries have a safe method and place of disposing of their nuclear waste materials. Unfortunately many countries are already overcrowded population wise, so they lack the space and that situation will not improve in my lifetime.

So, no to nuclear bombs but yes to nuclear power/electricity.

Nuclear power is good for a country, but who knows whether the country had used it for some other purpose. I think nuclear should be limited in a country and be guarded by UN, not by USA. UN should have the final decision on the nuclear matters.
