Retired now but potter around our few acres, which is enough to keep us going plus provide a few extra dollars.

We still keep some chickens for the eggs which we sell to the locals mostly and although they do not bring in a fortune, it all helps. Grow some vegetables and also sell off the excess to some select customers who have been buying from us for years now. We rear a few calves every year and then once they are ready for weaning, we sell them for the little bit of extra money that they can bring in. I do a little bit of tractor work for a couple of local farmers from time to time, not a lot but enough so that they give us fuel which means we do not have to buy petrol for the cars.

Lastly, there is the internet, particularly paid to post forums, which brings in a little bit and that all helps keep things ticking over nicely. Not a fortune of course but even those few dollars each week soon add up to a decent amount over the year.

Reading on how you save your money on all the little little things, and also do some chores to exchange for some of your daily needs. I should learn from you. I always hope that I can also live in a farm where I can enjoy the farm life.
